Hello & thank you for being here !

Yimfong is an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist specialising in couple and relationship counselling. She has over 18 years of clinical experience in supporting a diverse range of individuals and families going through challenging life and work transitions. These include anxiety, self identity, attachment, loss and grief, cognitive dissonance around gender, identity, sexuality, religion and spirituality.
Yimfong is passionate about how relationships matter in helping people thrive!
We do not minimise our difficulties and challenges. We can learn not to be defined only by them. There is more to us than what limits us. However, our journey needs support.
Respectful, caring interpersonal relationships and inner relationship to our self, influences our mental health and sense of well being. Conversely, continuing stress and conflict in our interpersonal relationships at work and at home have a direct impact on our physical and emotional well being.
Yimfong has a unique lens for a whole-of-life and wholistic approach to life as a living process. She grew up in a multicultural society, lived in four countries and through her personal journey and extensive studies became much more aware of the complex interplay of culture, race, gender, sexuality, religion, spirituality and socio-politics. Context matters. Understanding how generational trauma influences our family dynamics and lost connections matters. We need safe places and safe people to support us in co-creating the shifts and change we want to experience in our lifetime.
Yimfong's approach is person-centred with interpersonal interaction as integral to your therapy. She engages you collaboratively and ethically in your process. She has a whole person, systemic approach that integrates attachment and trauma-formed practices, Focusing-oriented therapy, Brainspotting, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) and embodied phenomenological use of imagery, symbols and drawings.
Yimfong brings the same passionate values to her supervision and mentoring in reflective practice with her supervisees. Through individual and group supervision, she promotes engagement, critical thinking, competency, and compassionate inquiry in the reflective supervision space. Her supervision process is guided by her deep understanding of professional identity development and a deeper connection to self for the therapist that ultimately influences the quality of their work.
