Hello,
Welcome to my site and I hope you get a sense of my therapy and supervision approaches to working with you.
Find a safe, respectful, ethical space with me to explore your issues and work collaboratively to co-create change with you. I have been working with individuals, couples and families for 17 years with specialist interest and training in relationship counselling and psychotherapy.
The therapy process is not "easy" but worthwhile to help you gain new perspectives and ways to live more fully and freely in how you relate to your your self and with others. We do not have to wait for a crisis to jump start your journey.
Research shows we often wait too long (up to seven years!) before seeking help. Not surprisingly, some of us will get impatient for change to occur quickly when we finally see a therapist. However, to understand the recurring, troubling interactions we must be willing to investigate deeper to understand how we learned ways to cope with life and try to manage others around us. Therefore, take a little time to find the "right therapist for you." One that you feel you can begin to trust to take this path of healing with you.
Some of you may have noticed and wondered over time how your thoughts, emotions and behaviour have recurring familiarity and themes (even in your dreams). Everything in us wants to help us heal and flow forward in our lives. There is a Focusing process that can help you with this exploration of stoppages in your flow of life and creative energy. They tend to keep many of us stuck or circling round and round until they are given time, space and compassion to show you exactly what is needed to live forward.
My therapy approach privileges person-centred, experiential therapies that includes EMDR, Focusing, attachment and systemic therapy.
Warmly,
Yimfong Voon (she/her)
